Prof Dr. Sumaira Farooqui is the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences at Ziauddin University and the Editor-in-Chief of the Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation. With over 33 years of diverse experience in academia and healthcare, she has authored more than 45 publications and holds HEC approval for PhD supervision. She has a proven track record in developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and innovative programs, as well as supervising research projects and managing multiple institutional activities. As an academician, researcher, and leader, she possesses strong leadership skills and is dedicated to team development and institutional growth. Her task-oriented approach, critical thinking, and attention to detail have made significant contributions to the rehabilitation field in the country. Dr. Rizvi is a PhD scholar and holds an MPhil in Physical Therapy with a specialization in Neurological Rehabilitation. With 6.5 years of academic experience, she teaches research-related and neurological subjects. Dr. Rizvi has authored several impactful publications, including studies on innovative approaches for motor function improvement in children with Down Syndrome, the effectiveness of simulated equestrian therapy, and the role of virtual reality in sensorimotor recovery for post-stroke patients. Her other works explore rehabilitation topics such as cognitive domains in physiotherapy education, motor skills interventions in children with developmental delays, and the promotion of physical activity among healthcare professionals. Dr. Rizvi’s research aims to enhance rehabilitation techniques and contribute to evidence-based practices in the field of physical therapy.

Dr. Mehwish holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and a Master’s in Advanced Physiotherapy (MSAPT) from Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), specializing in neurological, cardiopulmonary, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. With over six years of experience, she combines academic, clinical, and editorial expertise. Dr. Mehwish is actively involved in clinical practice at Taj Consultants Clinic, where she provides evidence-based therapeutic care. She has authored three publications to date, focusing on the integration of advanced physiotherapeutic techniques into clinical practice and the development of innovative rehabilitation protocols. Through her research and scholarly activities, Dr. Mehwish is dedicated to contributing to the body of knowledge in physical therapy.
