Archiving & Repository Policy
Digital Preservation and Long-term Access
The Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation is committed to ensuring permanent preservation and long-term access to published content through established digital archiving networks. Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation participates in LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) preservation initiatives to guarantee perpetual availability of scholarly content.
Journal Archiving Systems
LOCKSS Network Participation: The content of Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation is preserved through the LOCKSS distributed digital preservation system, which creates multiple copies of published articles across participating libraries and institutions worldwide. This ensures continued access even if the original publisher becomes unavailable.
CLOCKSS Archive: All published articles are deposited in the CLOCKSS archive, a dark archive that provides triggered access to preserved content in the event of publisher failure or content loss. CLOCKSS serves as a safety net for the global scholarly record, ensuring permanent preservation of publications in Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation.
Author Self-Archiving Rights
1) Permitted Self-Archiving: Authors retain the right to self-archive their published work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, or other online platforms. This includes deposit in repositories such as institutional repositories, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, and other academic platforms.
2) Attribution Requirements: When self-archiving, authors must provide proper attribution to the Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation by including the complete citation information, journal name, volume, issue, page numbers, publication date, and DOI. A statement such as “Originally published in Pakistan Journal of Rehabilitation” must accompany the archived version.
Preservation Assurance
All published content will remain accessible and preserved through these archiving systems even if PJR ceases publication, ensuring perpetual access to the scholarly record.
